How to Transfer Files From a DVR to a PC
- 1). Connect your laptop to the Internet. You will need to do this in close proximity of where you have your DVR connected. If you disconnect the cable from your DVR, you may lose all your data.
- 2). Locate the USB outlet of your DVR. On some models, this will be inside a front panel that you snap open from the top. However, some will be located at the back of your DVR.
- 3). Turn on your DVR. Make sure the power is on by checking for the ready lights on the front of the device. If you are not getting power, check to ensure the plug is in the outlet.
- 4). Connect one end of your USB cord to your DVR and then connect the other end to your laptop.
- 5). Wait for Windows to recognize the device. Once this has occurred, you will be prompted to click import files on the windows transfer dialog box. Your files will then be loaded onto your laptop.
