How to Make an ATV Exhaust Silencer
- 1). Remove the old exhaust silencer by unscrewing the mounting bolts with the socket wrenches. Slide the silencer from the end of the exhaust pipe.
- 2). Cut a 2.5-foot length of the three-inch and two-inch diameter pipes with the hacksaw. Use the drill to make holes throughout the two-inch diameter pipe section.
- 3). Wrap the two-inch diameter pipe in the steel wool and slide it into the three-inch diameter pipe. Use the welder to weld the two pipes together with the steel wool packed tightly inside.
- 4). Slide the silencer onto the exposed exhaust pipe on the ATV and secure it with the mounting bolts. Start the bike and see how it sounds.
