One of the most unique aspects our student life is the Honor Code, which serves to govern the student body. The Honor Code is a set of guidelines and principles which promote respect for oneself and one's neighbor as well as one's school. Students ratify the code, iron out the provisions contained with in, and make a pact to follow the code. Students also enforce the code. This system of self-government is unparalleled in American education. Our Honor Code makes students responsible for their own behavior and in turn, prepares them for the real world.
Bryn Mawr College also is a proud home to twelve NCAA Division three athletic teams. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence in the classroom, on the sports field, and in the daily life of our students. This includes athletics. We have student groups that hold less formal sporting events and teams, so that everyone who wants to play can, whether or not it is for the school team. We also ensure our athletes' put their academics first.
