It may be a in a park, by the river, beach, or any other suitable place but nothing beats the relaxing feeling picnics give.
The foods make the picnic what it is, and add your family and friends in the equation and you'll get a sure hit fun experience.
Another thing that can also turn any simple picnic into an exciting one is pick and mix sweets.
We have here some easy to prepare foods that will go well with our favourite choice of sweets.
For a healthy serving of deliciousness, prepare some tomatoes and peaches.
Simply combine simultaneously sliced tomatoes with seeds removed and peaches along with red onions that are thinly sliced and chopped cilantro or rosemary.
Pour over some olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper or vinaigrette if you have some.
This delicious salad will capture your palates away.
Finish the taste off with some pick and mix sweets.
You may also try preparing corn flaked chicken to go with your pick and mix sweets.
All you need to do is cut some boneless chicken meat into small pieces.
Marinate it with milk or buttermilk; whatever is available.
After the chicken meat is soaked in milk, dredge it over with seasoned crushed corn flakes.
Pan-fry it in oil afterwards and serve cold with garlic bread or celery with some cheese dressing for dipping.
If you love veggies then this part is for you.
To prepare your very own giardiniera, simmer 1 part olive oil, 2 parts red wine vinegar and 4 parts water with herbs, salt and pepper in a casserole.
Add chopped veggies of your choice from firmest to softest (for example, you may add carrots first, then cauliflowers, then peppers).
Poach the veggies until just getting tender.
Remove the casserole from heat and chill overnight in the liquid.
To add another veggie delight, toss some cauliflower florets with oil, salt and pepper, and cook in a hot oven until browned; while still warm, mix it with some curry powder and a generous amount of raisins.
Pour on the lemon juice.
Serve during picnic with some pick and mix sweets for desert.
