    • 1). Push "Windows Key" and "R" simultaneously. This loads a Run box.

    • 2). Type "Regedit" in the Run box, then press "Enter."

    • 3). Navigate to the following location in the registry:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches

    • 4). Right-click "Compress old files," then select "Delete."

    • 5). Press "OK" to confirm deletion. This change will take effect the next time you log in to Windows.
