30th Birthday Checklist
- Take a trip to an exotic destination of your choice. Traveling with friends may bring more fun and excitement, but journeying to your dream destination alone may rejuvenate your mind and body. Plan your trip at least one year in advance to ensure that you have the money to indulge in your every whim.
- Lose those few extra pounds just in time to make a stellar debut at your 30th birthday bash. Join a local gym, purchase a few at-home workout videos or adapt your current lifestyle to incorporate more physical activity while shying away from planned exercise routines. Consuming a healthier diet will boost your weight-loss efforts.
- Retrace your family tree to discover long-lost relatives. Meeting new cousins, aunts or uncles may lead you to other relatives that you never knew existed. Order birth, death and marriage records and talk to grandparents about family members who live out of state. Search through old address books and obituaries to find new leads.
- Share your gifts and volunteer at a local shelter or after-school program. You may have a knack for making chicken stew or work exceptionally well with kids, so put your skills to good use. Volunteering will make your feel good about your life and can give you a sense of accomplishment.
- Make your entrepreneurial dreams come true by starting your own business. Open your own restaurant, start a landscaping business or breed dogs. Ensure that you have the financial resources to support your lifestyle during the beginning phases of your business venture. Seek out a silent partner if you need an investor.
- Support the arts by taking ballroom dancing lessons, attending the opera, making a painting or auditioning for a play. Regardless of whether you enjoy the experience, you will take pride in knowing that you attempted to expand your horizons.
- Go back to college and finish your degree. Your life may have taken an unexpected path, but it is never too late to advance your education. The perks of earning your degree may include securing your dream job, earning a promotion or qualifying for a salary increase.
- Conquer one of your biggest fears by facing it. Fly across the country to see the ocean. Visit a pet store and hold a tarantula. Invest in the stock market. Take sky diving lessons. Whatever your fear may be, take charge of it so that you can focus your attention elsewhere.
