There aren't online cosmetology schools because a key factor in becoming a cosmetologist is hands-on training experience. Minnesota School of Business/Globe College

• The Minnesota School of Business offers a cosmetology business degree, which prepares the student for supervising a salon, starting a cosmetology business, or working as a market professional within the industry. This program has a 95 percent placement rate (the percentage of students who find work after graduation). There is a scholarship available for those who graduated from the Minnesota School of Cosmetology, a brick and mortar program. The cosmetology business degree is for licensed cosmetology professionals only.

• Visit cosmetologycampus.com to find individual certification courses and materials available for license renewal. Because license requirements differ by state, cosmetology campus only offers renewal packages for Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Nebraska, Ohio, and Texas. Individual courses are available in subjects such as Electric Nail File, Pedicure Essentials, and Blood Borne Pathogens.
