How to Make Pop Up Flower Cards
- 1). Fold a piece of construction paper in half so the shorter sides touch. You will be constructing a card that opens from the bottom with the fold at the top of the card, rather than opening like a book. Cut two small parallel slits into the fold at the top of the card, about an inch long.
- 2). Open the card and poke the cut piece from the back of the card into the center of the card. Reverse the direction of the fold so you have a small loop of paper that juts out inside the card.
- 3). Close the card and crease the folds along the top. There will be a rectangular shape missing from the top of the card where it folds to the inside.
- 4). Draw a simple flower shape on another piece of construction paper in markers, making a circle for the center, adding oval petals around the circle, and drawing a thick stem with leaves branching off to the sides.
- 5). Cut out the shape and glue it with a glue stick to the inside of the card onto the front face of the jutting out, step-like loop of paper. Be sure the bottom of the flower is in place above the bottom of the step so the card can fold back down.
- 6). Write a message on the front and inside of the card along with your name and the recipient's name.
