How to Dress as a Firefighter
- 1). Start with a black or white cotton T-shirt. Find or download a fire department logo and print it out. Either tape the logo to your shirt or laminate it and then stitch it.
- 2). Find some tan or beige cargo pants. The side pockets can be used to store gloves, tools and any other equipment firefighters might need. Add a stripe of reflective tape to the bottom of the pants for a more authentic look. The purpose of the reflective tape is to allow the firefighter to be seen at night.
- 3). Wear a pair of red or black classic suspenders. Make some using two strips of cloth if you are unable to locate a pair of classic suspenders.
- 4). Don a pair of black steel toe boots. Look for galoshes or wrap snow boots in duct tape. You can even purchase a cheap pair of rain boots if you are having trouble finding the right boots.
- 5). Cap off your outfit with a firefighter hat. Purchase one at a party or costume store. They typically don't cost much and can help make or break your outfit.
