How to Paint a Mural on the Wall
- 1). Abrade walls consisting of plastic, vinyl or fiberglass paneling by scouring them with sandpaper. Do not abrade wood or drywall.
- 2). Apply acrylic latex primer to plastic, vinyl, wood and fiberglass paneled walls, using a roller. Wait two hours for the walls to dry. Do not prime drywall.
- 3). Take a photograph to a film-processing store. Have it converted into a slide.
- 4). Insert the image into the projector. Point the unit so it casts the image in the area where you want the mural to appear.
- 5). Cover the floor beneath the wall with dropcloths.
- 6). Paint the mural using the projected image as a guide. Use an acrylic spray paint to coat larger, background areas and craft brushes to paint smaller, detailed areas.
