    Managing Content

    • Managing content on the Samsung Sync, like managing content on most multimedia capable phones, is done on the computer. In order to connect your Sync to a PC or Mac, you will first need a data cable for the Samsung Sync. The data cable does not come standard with the phone, but can be purchased from your phone service provider's website, from Samsung, or from electronics stores. Once connected to the computer via the data cable, the Samsung Sync will show up as a removable drive on the "My Computer" window. From here, you can add data to the phone internally.
Samsung also offers data management software for free on its website for the Samsung Sync. Once installed, this program can help you back up your contacts list, add multimedia content and even create ringtones.

    Hold Feature

    • One of the little known features of the Samsung Sync is the ability to put calls on hold. While a call is on hold, you can make another call, access stored information and even switch between multiple conversations. To place a call on hold, simply access the options menu while the call is in progress and select "Hold." To make another call while on hold, simply dial the number and press the green phone button. Once the call is in progress, both calls will register on the screen as in progress.

    Memory Management

    • While the Samsung Sync only comes with a modest 30 megabytes of internal memory, the memory is expandable via the external memory slot located on the left side of the phone. This slot supports a MicroSD card which can store up to eight gigabytes of additional information. This is where you will store the majority of your multimedia.

You can store information on your MicroSD card one of two ways. Either connect the card directly to your computer through a MicroSD card adapter that fits over your MicroSD card to make it compatible with normal size SD card readers, or (more useful for direct downloads) move information stored on your phone to the MicroSD card directly. This can be done simply by highlighting the song, picture or contact you wish to move and selecting Move in the options menu.
