Video: What Is the SI Measurement for Gram?
Video Transcript
Hi, my name's Julia, and I'm going to answer the question, what is the SI measurement for gram? Now, when we talk about SI measurements, or SI units, the SI stands for System International, which is French for International System, the International System of Units. Now, gram is a unit of mass, and the SI unit that we use is the kilogram, and we can write it abbreviated as kg. The kilogram is about equal to the mass of 1 liter of water, or H2O. The kilogram relates to grams like this, 1kg is equal to 1,000g, g being the abbreviation for grams, so if you're want to use SI units for mass, you go to the kilogram. And there you go. My name's Julia, thank you.
