    Sand Art

    • Sand art can be done by any age group. Whether the toddler needs help laying down the glue from a parent or a school-aged child draws elaborate pictures to trace with the glue, the craft can keep everyone busy for hours. Pictures should be drawn on a piece of construction paper and traced with white school glue. Colored sand is then sprinkled on the glue to outline the details. Allow the glue to dry, shake off the excess sand and the pictures are ready to frame or hang.

    Friendly Foliage

    • After family members have taken a walk to collect autumn leaves, the only supplies needed are paper, glue and pencils or markers. Glue the leaves to the paper and use the markers to detail the picture. Use two leaves with a body drawn in between to make a butterfly or a leaf as crazy hair on top of a marker drawn face. Press the art between two heavy books to flatten and preserve the pictures.

    Handprints

    • With fabric paints, paintbrushes and fabric to stamp, this three-part craft is quick and easy for all ages. Family members paint their hands or feet in any color fabric paint and then stamp them on any type of fabric from T-shirts to hand towels. Allow them to dry overnight to keep them from smearing, and they are ready to be used or given for gifts.
