    The Children's Museum of Indianapolis

    • The Children's Museum of Indianapolis combines learning with entertainment in some of its state-of-the-art interactive displays. The Dinosphere exhibit houses a vast display of dinosaur fossils and allows kids the opportunity to gets their hands dirty with their own "dinosaur dig." The Carousel Wishes and Dreams display allows parents and kids to play together. Visitors can enjoy the carousel, get lost in a maze of mirrors or have fun in the games and puzzles arcade. This area is all about creating memories as a family, and children will delight in all of the fun activities that surround them.

    Conner Prairie Interactive History Park

    • Located 10 miles from downtown Indianapolis, the Conner Prairie Interactive History Park has five themed historical areas for visitors to explore. The 1816 Lenape Camp gives visitors the chance to experience what life was like for the Delaware Indians. Guests can dance to the sounds of a gourd rattle or water drum, participate in a tomahawk throw or barter with fur traders. In the William Conner Homestead and Animal Encounters Barn, guests can tour the first-floor home where William Conner lived with his family, see animals up close in the large barn, dip a candle and stroll through heirloom gardens. The 1836 Prairietown lets guests experience life in an Indiana pioneer village. Guests are welcome to help with the chores, visit the town's people and play pioneer games. The 1859 Balloon Voyage gives guests the opportunity to soar up in the air on a tethered hot air balloon. At the 1886 Liberty Corner, children can run the bases on a historic baseball field, help with chores and sit for a lesson at the area school.

    Indianapolis Zoo

    • The Indianapolis Zoo is a great place to entertain children and educate them about various species of animals. There are inside and outside exhibits at the zoo for guests to enjoy. Children can admire typical zoo animals, such as lions, tigers and giraffes, but the zoo also houses a completely submerged dolphin viewing area that allows visitors to interact with dolphins up close. The shark touch pool gives guests the opportunity to touch one of many dog sharks, the perfect exhibit for thrill-seekers. In addition to animal exhibits, the zoo has rides including a family roller coaster, carousel and pony rides.
