How to Make a Bridesmaid Ball Bouquet
- 1). Soak a ball of floral foam in water for a half to a full hour. Leave the foam in the water until the foam becomes pliable and the end of a toothpick can easily be inserted into the foam. Use a ball with the circumference roughly one-half the size of the desired ball bouquet.
- 2). Insert flowers with trimmed, heavy stems directly into the foam ball. Good options for flowers with hearty stems suitable for pushing into the foam include roses and carnations. Trim flowers such as stargazer lilies and gardenias so that just the bloom remains.
- 3). Attach bloom-only flowers, or flowers without stems, by inserting a pushpin through the center of the flower and securing the flower flush against the foam ball.
- 4). Add accent greenery, stems of beads or twigs to fill in the ball if any bare spots remain after all flowers have been attached to the ball.
- 5). Craft a handle for holding the ball bouquet by taking a 24-inch piece of ribbon, in a color that coordinates with the flowers, and looping in half to create a circle. Stitch the two loose ends together using a needle and thread to create the handle. Attach the looped handle to the ball bouquet by using two to three straight pins to secure the ribbon to the ball.
