• Instead of unrolling a sheet of fabric to mark the bride's wedding procession, choose a more natural option, such as flower petals. Sprinkle a thick layer of flower petals down the center of the aisle as an aisle runner for the bride. Choose flowers in the same colors as the wedding's color palette, or stick with white for a traditional touch. • For a spring or summer wedding, line the sides of the aisle with potted plants and flowers. Scatter fall foliage down the aisle as a finishing touch to the autumn scene wedding. • For a sentimental twist on the idea of a traditional aisle runner, incorporate family history as well as family members in the aisle runner construction. Instead of the simple white linen aisle runner, collect pieces of fabric from friends and family members. Incorporate fabric that has history as well, such as a piece of a dress that belonged to your grandmother, a portion of your mother's wedding dress or a piece of your own christening gown.
