How to Make Roses Bloom with Banana and Coffee Grounds
- 1). Grind up your banana peels in a blender for easy spreading. Alternatively you can just cut up the banana peel. Don't use the whole banana, just the peel.
- 2). Collect your left over coffee grounds in a can. We usually keep our leftover banana peels in bag in the refrigerator, but as long as you don't wait till they rot you can keep them in the garage if you like.
- 3). When you have a few pounds of this on hand, add this mixture to a bucket of water.
- 4). Pour the mixture around the base of your roses at least twice a year (spring and fall), but you can use it more often if you like as the nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium content is not high at all, just about what you would find in good compost, which is essentially what this is.
- 5). * You can expect larger flowers and longer rose blooms with the addition of this compost to your roses soil.
