Your Kids Can"t Say No To Drugs
Just say NO to drugs, I see it everywhere. However, the problem is that they (kids) can't!
Why?
They like you and I, grew up inside of medicine cabinets. Every time they had a sniffle or cough you ran to the medicine cabinet and got them a drug. Sure, it was OTC (over the counter medication) but none the less it was a "drug." They had a headache and you gave them aspirin or Tylenol. They had a stomach ache and we gave them something for that. Little Johnny didn't make the baseball team and was depressed so we give him anti-depressants. Girls are on birth control at 12 years old or younger.
They see the drugs we take as adults too. Be sure of that, they watch and learn from us.
These same kids see 9 minutes out of every hour of television as "take this and cure that." Television has opened viewers up to a whole new world of endless hope for cures, everything from ED (erectile dysfunction) to High Blood Pressure to ending depression. What's worse is some of the ads don't even really say what the drug they are advertising is for. A friend of mine who is a Medical Doctor (MD) said that patients ask her for drugs that aren't even meant for their sex. A woman asked her for ED drugs because she said "everyone on the commercial looked so happy. I want some of that."
It doesn't end there either. Almost 1/4 of all magazines (or every fourth page) is a drug ad. Have this, take that! Suffer from?, experience this?, feeling depressed?... we have the DRUG for you!
So how is it that we expect them to "Say NO to drugs" when everything they have ever known includes drugs? They grew up getting vaccinated, giving drugs for every symptom and thinking that by adding a magic potion or pill will cure their problem.
There is another way.
Decide early that you will look for alternatives to drugs. Discover alternatives like Homeopathy, Acupuncture and Chiropractic. These non-invasive and drug-free approaches have been around for hundreds, if not thousands, of years and are safe alternatives to many of the problems you and your family may be experiencing.
