How to Write a Groom"s Speech

With the big wedding coming soon, the groom's mind is preoccupied with the wedding preparations, while the speech is resurfacing every now and then on his mind, but apparently, not structured yet on what to say specifically.

The groom's speech should mostly contain about him and the bride's life together - their relationship then and most especially their future as husband and wife. He could woe his wife with some cheesy words, as long as it's a heartfelt message to show his love and affection.

Beforehand, the groom and the bride should decide whether the bride will also have her speech or not, also bride's mother, and the maid of honor. The bride should be asked ahead if she's going to give a speech so as to avoid thanking the same people twice, since the groom's and bride's speeches will mostly contain thank you's to everyone. So in giving out thank you's, it is important that the groom will avoid overwhelming the crowd in saying it; thus, he can use his sense of humor (if he has any) in doing this so.

In saying out his list of thank you's, the father of the bride should be acknowledged first for his proposed toast (since he was given the privilege to give a speech ahead of you), for the friendship he offered you, for their support, and most especially for giving out his precious daughter's hand in marriage to you.

He should also thank the multitude/ guests for coming over in him and his wife's celebration of love. He can start this part with "Me and my wife would like to thank...", in case the wife will not have a speech. However, if the wife is also saying a piece after him, the two of them should decide who thank whom ahead.

Most especially, the groom must not forget to thank his bride - thanking her for marrying him, which could be the greatest decision yet she had committed. He could talk about how the two of them met, their future life together after the marriage vows, and his love and devotion for her. *sniff-sniff*

He should also not forget the people who helped them made the preparation possible: the organizers and planners, along with all the "backstage crew" for their efforts, the maid of honor and bridesmaids for helping out the bride in the preparation of "the big day", and also the groom's men and best man for helping him out through everything. Then, to finish his speech out, the groom can then introduce his best man to give his own speech afterwards - as well as asking him to be gentle with you.
