Dating can be a harrowing experience for novices and veterans alike. Many people will likely be eager to impress and worried about making a bad first impression on a date; in some cases, this can work against them as they can be perceived as false and unnatural. The important thing is to act naturally (which will calm the nerves) but also to feel comfortable, making the date a fun experience. - If you are going on a date with a movie enthusiast, going out to see a movie in a theater is fine, but inviting your date home to watch one can be even better. In the comfort of a house, both individuals can talk, laugh and joke about the movie without fear of disturbing other moviegoers, and your date won't be in a dark theater, where you can't exercise all-important eye contact.
- Romance in the sunshine can often be the most passionate: both individuals will feel like spending some comfortable, uncomplicated and relaxing time with each other. The beach is an ideal location for such a date. Swimming in the sea with each other, playing beach sports or just sunbathing and talking with each other will make the hours fly by.
- Dates are often better when there is an element of mystery to it---something that is hard to achieve when taking someone on a date to a bar or a club (or any building, for that matter). Outdoor dates provide this mystery and sense of the unknown; you and your date are masters of your own time and anything can happen. It can also help to show off a person's physique. Spending some quality time with a date in an open-air location that you may or may not know yourself, such as a forest or national park, can be quite romantic and is ideal for spending real quality time in one another's company.
- Picnics are a great way to spend some quality one-on-one time with a person. Packing some unique, handmade foods can provide some conversation material for the date, and a bottle of wine will round off the date nicely (or take it to the next level). You might try the tried and true method of preparing a picnic hamper beforehand and storing it nearby to surprise them at a later time. The location is also important: sit near a tree in order to take advantage of the shade on hot sunny days, near a lake or river for the background sound of running water, or on a hill with a view of the surrounding countryside.
