Contact Paper is one of the most versatile home décor products available.
It is used for thousands of things, from crafts projects for children to putting a new face on an old appliance.
In this article, we will look at five uses for contact paper you may not already know about.
1.
) The Table Top Contact paper has long been used to cover countertops.
It offers a protective layer and it comes in a variety of colors and styles so for sprucing up the kitchen it has always been popular.
But did you know it can be used to cover a coffee table, end table or night stand? Just select a color, style or pattern that matches the room's décor and you can put a new face on any table top in the room.
2.
) The Filing Cabinet Many of us have an unsightly metal filing cabinet in at least one room of the house.
It often sticks out as the only item in the room that doesn't match the décor of the carpet, the desk or the color of the walls.
Contact paper is the perfect solution.
Simply wrap the paper around the cabinet and you have a brand new piece of furniture.
For some extra style, use a different color for the drawer fronts.
3.
) The Washer and Dryer We sometimes write off the laundry room when it comes to décor.
After all, so many of the appliances made today are made without any sense of style.
But a plain laundry room can be shining in minutes with the application of contact paper to the washer and dryer.
It might even inspire you to splash a fresh coat of paint on those bare walls.
For an extra stylish touch, use a different style of contact paper for the lids and doors of the machines.
4.
) The fridge This is a real no-brainer for anyone whose fridge is in perfect working order but lacks in style.
Application is simple and takes only a few minutes.
You're left with the largest piece of your kitchen décor now adding to the style of the room.
You won't regret it.
For an additional convenience, use chalkboard contact paper.
This way you can write a shopping list right on the front of the fridge.
5.
) A Blank Canvas With the advent of so many new styles and patterns of wallpaper, the once plain paper is now bridging the gap with art.
Designer papers are readily available and cheap.
Have a blank wall that needs something but you can't afford the painting you want? Apply some stylish contact paper to a cheap blank canvas (or even an old painting you don't like) and hang it.
Presto! You've just created instant art.
There are a million ways to use contact paper around the home.
The only limit to the paper is our imagination!
