    • 1). Turn off your PSP, turn the unit over and slide off the back battery cover. Then lift the square battery out of its compartment.

    • 2). Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw at the top of the empty battery compartment and the screw in the bottom-left corner of the battery compartment. Set the two screws aside.

    • 3). Remove the two screws on the right side of the back of the device. One screw is on the top of the unit, the other is on the bottom. Set the screws aside.

    • 4). Turn your unit over so you are facing the very bottom of the device and remove the single screw located in the middle. Set it aside.

    • 5). Use your fingers to grip the faceplate at its edges and gently pull it from the device.

    • 6). Replace with the faceplate of a PSP Slim--available from a PlayStation retailer or online.

    • 7). Press down on the edges of the faceplate to make certain it is secure, then replace all the screws you removed in the earlier steps.
