When You Read This You Will NEVER Want To Consume Artificial Sugars Again: A Warning!

Artificial sugars have been around for a long time.

Sacchrin was the first artificial sugar ever produced. It was first consumed in the late 1800's and became popular during the sugar shortage around the time of World War I. After sacchrin, came other sweeteners such as Aspartame (Equal & Nutra Sweet), Sucralose (Splenda), and Asesolfame K (Sunett & Sweet One). They are used in chemically derived, highly processed foods as well as zero calorie foods, diet foods and soda. Many of us use it to sweeten our coffee and to cook and bake with.

What happens to your body when you consume artificial sugar?

When you consume a product that has artificial sugars in it, such as a low fat, low sugar or low calorie product, most of these products are full of artificial sweeteners. Did you know that artificial sugar is hundreds of times sweeter than normal, natural sugar? When you ingest these artificial sugars, a message is sent to the brain that you consumed an enormous amount of sugar. Enzymes that prepare your cells to intake sugar are produced and when your cells do not get that real sugar, your brain senses that it is hungry still and you begin to crave more carbohydrates and sugar! That is part of the reason why artificial sugars do not help you lose weight. Manufacturers of these low sugar, calorie and fat products advertise these products but they leave out the fact that you will not lose weight by eating them and that you may actually gain weight instead!

Health and side effects from artificial sweeteners?

Artificial sugars should be avoided because they can be very toxic to your body! Some health issues linked to then include cancer, depression, immunity problems, male infertility, intestinal disorders, dizziness, headaches, skin rashes, and nausea, just to name a few!

If you are trying to improve your health and lose weight, my advice is to use regular sugar (organic is the best) in moderation. Have a well balanced diet that includes fruit, which is a great thing to eat when you have a sugar craving. By eating good foods, getting rid of the artificial sweeteners and lowering your intake of sugar, you will notice that you don't have sugar cravings any more and your energy level will be more consistent, instead of at highs and lows!

A good tip is to always keep a bowl of fresh fruit salad as a desert alternative to sugary cookies, cakes and pies. Enjoy the tempting foods once in a while, because that is part of the joy of eating!!
