How to Germinate Cashews
- 1). Place the cashew seeds in a bucket of water. Allow them to soak for 10 minutes. Remove and discard any seeds that float to the top of the water as they are not viable.
- 2). Combine equal parts of compost or well-rotted manure and fine sand. Pour the mixture into peat pots and pour water over it until it is moist.
- 3). Push the cashew seeds 2 inches into the planting medium and cover with soil. Do not overwater while the seed germinates; keep the soil just slightly moist.
- 4). Place the pots in a lightly shaded area. The cashew seeds will germinate within two weeks.
