How Do Tile Cutters Work?
- 1). Position the fence at the appropriate angle for the tile you want to cut. For example, you can position the fence to allow you to cut a square tile into half or you can configure the fence to cut a the tile into a triangle so you can create a diamond shape on your floor.
- 2). Place the tile against the fence.
- 3). Slide the handle of the cutter to the end opposite the fence.
- 4). Press down hard enough to sink the scorer into the tile but not hard enough to crack the tile.
- 5). Pull the handle back toward the fence while you hold down on the handle. This leaves a line across the tile.
- 6). Return the handle to the middle of the tile.
- 7). Press downward on the handle to snap the tile along the scored line.
