DIY Tissue Paper Art Canvas
- 1). Cover your canvas with a coat of decoupage paste, using a foam paintbrush.
- 2). Smooth a sheet of tissue paper over the canvas. Be gentle, as the tissue paper has a tendency to tear when wet. You will not be able to get the paper completely smooth.
- 3). Let the tissue paper dry to the touch.
- 4). Coat the canvas in another coat of decoupage paste, to seal the tissue paper.
- 5). Gather together the photos, die cuts, paper and other embellishments you want to add to your canvas. Paint the backs of each with a coat of decoupage paste and apply them to the canvas in the arrangement you like best. Allow the paste to dry to the touch.
- 6). Apply a final coat of decoupage paste to the entire canvas. Let the paste dry for one to two hours.
- 7). Use scissors to trim the excess tissue paper from the edges of the canvas.
- 8). In a well-ventilated area, spray the canvas with a coat of acrylic spray. Let the canvas dry according to the acrylic spray instructions.
