Centerpiece Ideas for a Party
- Create a centerpiece that is both beautiful and hunger-satisfying. Place floral foam in the bottom of a pretty woven basket. Next, cut up bite-size pieces of melons, and wash and remove the tops of strawberries. Spear the fruit through long wooden sticks. Finally, insert the sticks into the foam to create a centerpiece that is appetizing and appealing to the eye. You can can also purchase a pre-made fruit basket through Edible Arrangements (see resources below).
- Celebrate the party honoree by arranging a photo collage. If you are planning a birthday party for a loved one, gather photos that highlight his life, and place them in a standing frame which holds multiple pictures. To complement the collage, set out a vase of the honoree's favorite flowers.
- Showcase the season by creating a seasonal centerpiece. During the autumn months, fill a woven basket with colorful real or silk leaves. Add an assortment of mini gourds and pumpkins. String an artificial red berry garland around the handle of the basket.
- Throw a holiday party and create a festive centerpiece for your table. If you are celebrating Halloween, create a "spooky" centerpiece by using stencils to paint black bats, mice and spiders onto small white pumpkins. Cut black bats out of thick construction paper and glue or tape them onto various lengths of floral wire. Arrange the painted pumpkins onto a black tray; then stick the wired bats into one of the pumpkins.
- Buy a baby-buggy-shaped wicker basket and spray paint it pink or blue; a pastel shade of green or yellow will also work. Next, fill the basket with green floral foam. Insert sprigs of baby's breath and delicate baby roses into the foam, as well as other greenery.
