Three Great Moves for Long Lean Legs
Whether you're planning to hit the beach or just slip into a pair of jeans, having long lean legs is a killer plus.
Whether you're plagued by jiggling rings, heavy love handles, skinny calves or flabby muscles, the answer to getting those amazing beach worthy legs lies in a little discipline, effort and will power.
All you have to do is work hard for a month or so and combine the following three moves with some fat burning cardio and you can have yourself a pair of new, long and lean legs before you know it.
In today's article we're going to take a look at these three great moves, and help you begin training immediately.
The first great move to help sculpt those legs is known as the Prayer Twist, and is part endurance, part burn.
Stand with your knees and feet together, and then lower into a squat, not quite ninety degrees.
Then place your hands together and turn to one side, placing your opposite elbow on the opposite knee, so that you are facing to the side if not up, twisting your spine while holding the bent legs.
Hold this position for as long as you can, trying for six sets of thirty seconds, and if possible tuck in your tailbone and scoot down a couple of inches while you're at it.
The second move is the Balance Lunge, which is a tough upgrade on your normal lunge that you might have tried before.
Stand straight and then extend your arms out to your sides, parallel to the ground.
From there, step forward into a forward lunge, going down deep so that your knee almost touches the ground.
Hold it, balancing with your arms out to your sides, and then rise back up, retracting the leg.
Do this on the other side, and that's one rep.
Now try doing this for three sets, each one consisting of sixteen reps, and you should have a wonderful burn going! Finally try and do the Energy Squat.
This requires a little athletic energy, but don't be intimidated, it's fun and easy.
Stand straight, legs shoulder width apart, arms up in the air so that your body forms a huge 'X'.
From there, leap up and fall into lunge, arms pointing straight ahead.
Do three sets of fifteen, and you will feel an incredible burn throughout your legs! This move along with the previous two will help you develop the kind of long lean legs you have always dreamed about!
