How to Analyze Ink
- 1). Print and analyze a document. Check for clarity. If the page is clear and crisp, your ink quality is fine. If you see blotches, streaks or dull letters, proceed to the next step.
- 2). Run a cleaning cycle to ensure that documents come out crisp and clean. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to do this
If you don't run a regular cleaning cycle, documents may have white streaks, wavy lines or blotches. These flaws can lead you to believe you're running out of ink when you're not. - 3). Print a test page. If the printer still fails to print properly, the ink cartridge may be damaged or running low. In that case you do need to buy a new cartridge.
