How to Move Information to a Portable Hard Drive

    • 1). Place the portable hard drive's USB wire into the port labeled "USB" on the computer.

    • 2). Open the portable hard drive's folder by clicking the "View Folder of All Files" option in the AutoPlay box which appears when the portable hard drive is connected to the computer.

    • 3). Open the folder containing the files that you want to move to the portable hard drive.

    • 4). Hold the left mouse button button and highlight the files. Right-click a file, and click "Cut."

    • 5). Right-click the portable hard drive folder and click "Paste." The files are now moved from the computer to the portable hard drive.
