How to Forget Your Old Relationship and Begin Anew

At times relationships can be wonderful, other times they can be the scariest thing you've ever experienced.
This is true especially if you still haven't gotten over your ex from a previous relationship.
Sometimes it's difficult to start over with someone new and with some relationships it can be easy, it all depends on the people involved.
It's not a good idea to hurry into a new relationship until you're able to put the hurt feelings and bad memories behind you.
But you also don't want to shut yourself away from the world for long periods while you try and get on with your life.
You want to be careful to avoid falling into the traps of the usual rebound relationship.
It is usually unhealthy for both people and you may end up in worse shape if your rebound relationship ends badly.
There will be less risk of a bad rebound relationship if you allow enough time to pass before getting involved with a new person.
The best thing you can do in the process of moving on is to resist the past and learn from it instead of allowing yourself to be controlled by it.
In most people's experiences this is not as easy as it sounds but getting past the pain and learning from it will make your future relationships all the more rewarding.
The old axiom that time heals all wounds is not always accurate.
Sometimes the best way to recover is to be proactive instead of simply reacting to your pain.
Devoting your strength, time and energy to yourself and practicing self-love can be the perfect gift to give yourself while you recover from a breakup and start a new relationship.
Don't dwell on failures and things that have hurt you in the past.
Instead focus on the things you like about yourself and the world around you.
If letting go is difficult for you, you might think about joining a support group or possibly contemplate some sort of counseling.
Your self-respect can sometimes be hurt when a relationship ends, especially when things end badly.
Counseling can assist you as you try to be optimistic about the world again and help you see yourself as the good person that you are.
Sometimes there is grief and uncertainty that you haven't experienced before and you may need help to navigate your way without fear of being judged or blamed for your feelings.
If you follow this advice, your new relationship will be much more likely to grow and flourish than if you move too fast and not deal with your hurt feelings and negative emotions from your past.
