How to Start Up a Hot Tub
- 1). Fill the hot tub to the proper level. Do not attempt to operate if the hot tub does not have the adequate water level. The water level affects the chemical balance.
- 2). Add either bromine or chlorine. You must use the chlorine specifically formulated for hot tubs and not household chlorine.
- 3). Inspect the pH range. The pH range must be between 7 and 7.2. Any level higher or lower may lead to skin and eye irritation or injury. You can purchase a pH kit at a pool store.
- 4). Turn on the heat and monitor the temperature. The water should not exceed 104 degrees.
