How to Drive Traffic to Your Website
In the real and tangible world a business may have a storefront.
There are several tools available to drive traffic inside the doors such as radio and print advertising, creating contests, attending and hosting workshops, and creating effective signs.
All of these methods of driving traffic to a store involves three basic principles or steps.
They include: 1.
Drafting your material.
Whether it is an event such as a workshop, tradeshow, or contest or material such as flyers, signs, or gift certificates the business owner must ensure that material is created.
This is called a rough draft or a concept.
2.
Getting your material on the construct.
This step is simply putting your material on the construct that will be distributed, such as the rack card, tradeshow banner, or business cards.
3.
Distribute the construct which your material is on.
Once the material is drafted and produced then it needs to be distributed.
You distribute the completed material by taking it and putting it where there will be traffic.
For example, you may wish to bring your company banner and pamphlets with you to a tradeshow or put your sign up in high density traffic areas.
Some businesses have an employee or contractor wear an attention seeking outfit, stand in front of the store and point traffic through the doors.
Driving traffic to a website is really no different.
The concept is the same.
You must get your material out there on high traffic sites to bring awareness to your website.
You can start this process by joining some of the major social networking sites that are free to sign up for such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Build your profiles by being active on the sites and bring awareness to your products or services.
Make sure that you provide meaningful contributions and do not spam your way to success.
Also make sure that you provide anchor text backlinks from websites that are relevant to your niche.
One of the most effective ways of bringing traffic to your web site is by getting a link to your website on the major search engines, such as Google, in a position where others will find you.
After all, if no one can find you during their organic search, then you are just another storefront on an obscure street in a big city.
Driving traffic to your website through proper and ethical search engine optimization and Internet Marketing strategies involves lots of hard work and commitment, but the rewards are well worth the efforts.
