Setting Up the Cleaning Slot

• 1). Click on the "Devices" button in Backup Exec.
  
  
• 2). Click on the drive or library with the cleaning tape to open the drive settings, then click the slot with the cleaning tape in it and click "Properties."
  
  
• 3). Put a checkmark next to "Cleaning slot," and then click OK to save changes.
  
  

Running the Cleaning Job

• 1). Click on "Devices" in Backup Exec and click on the drive you want to clean to open its settings.
  
  
• 2). Click on the "Clean" option in the Drive tasks field of the settings window.
  
  
• 3). Click "Run Now" to begin cleaning.
