How to Make a Flipping Plane With Paper

    • 1). Fold the paper in half along its longest median point and then make a crease. Unfold the paper afterward.

    • 2). Grab the top right corner of the paper and fold it along the left edge of the paper. The entire top edge of the paper should match up evenly with the left edge. Unfold the paper and then repeat this step using the top left corner instead. Again, the entire top edge of the paper must match the right edge of the paper. Unfold the paper. If done correctly, six fold lines intersect at a point one-third the length of the paper.

    • 3). Turn the paper over and then fold the top third of the sheet toward you so that a new crease intersects where the other lines do. Unfold the paper; there are now eight intersecting lines.

    • 4). Turn the paper back over to the original side.

    • 5). Push the paper upward at the right and left horizontal creases while bringing the folded edges flat against the rest of the paper. The top right and left halves of the paper should meet evenly and stick upward perpendicular to the sheet.

    • 6). Insert a finger between the perpendicular fold and flatten this piece of paper against the rest of the sheet. It should fold easily along the creases already made and resemble a triangle when flattened.

    • 7). Take the left point of the triangle and fold it slightly upward, so that the tip meets the center line. Do the same with the right point of the triangle. Both points should converge on the same place on the center line.

    • 8). Fold the top point of the triangle so that it lies on top of the left and right points at the center line, and then fold the rest of the paper in half.

    • 9). Holding the paper with the closed side at the bottom, fold equal wing flaps on the left and right. The crease should be slightly lower than the mid-point of the plane's flat nose (front) and parallel to the bottom of the plane.

    • 10

Fold the small point of the nose flap down so that its crease is in line with the bottom of the air plane.

    • 11

Grab the top of one wing flap and fold it down, about one third the length of the wing. Next, fold the first fold over itself. All creases should be parallel to the bottom of the plane.

    • 12

Repeat steps 10 and 11 for the other side of the plane.

    • 13

Open the folds in the wings and make sure they are even. Likewise, open the nose flaps so that they are perpendicular to the rest of the plane.

    • 14

Test the plane by throwing it with a slight upward angle. Adjust the folds in the wings as necessary to alter how much or often the plane flips.
