    • 1). Turn off power at the fuse box to the existing ceiling fixture. Remove the fixture by unscrewing the mounting screws that hold the fixture to the ceiling electrical box. Disconnect the wires as you pull down the box. Leave the wires from the ceiling box hanging down. There should be one black wire, one white wire and one bare grounding wire.

    • 2). Hold the new light fixture near the electrical box. Use wire nuts to connect the black wire from the light to the black wire from the ceiling box. Connect it by holding the ends of the wires side by side, and twist the nut over them both. Wrap the connection in electrical tape.

    • 3). Repeat the process to connect the white wire from the light fixture to the white wire from the electrical box.

    • 4). Wrap the bare grounding wire from the ceiling box around the green screw within the top part of the light fixture. Tighten the screw with your screwdriver.

    • 5). Lift the light fixture up near the ceiling electrical box. Tuck the wires into the box, then press the fixture right to it. Attach the fixture to the box with the mounting screws that came with the kit.

    • 6). Turn on the power and test the light, using the wall switch.
