  Isle of Pines is part of an archipelago called Thousand Islands that sits on the border between New York State and Canada. Thousand Islands is a popular spot for fishing, boating and vacationing. Isle of Pines is part of the town of Alexandria Bay, which is close to historic Boldt Castle, and Keewaydin State Park and has many area hotels to accommodate the swells of tourists which flock here in the summertime.

• Pinehurst Cottages in Alexandria Bay is a family-friendly accommodation located in a pine grove. Pinehurst offers a pool, boat rental, shuffleboard, a playground and a dockage station for boaters. "Sleeping cottages," for those only spending a few nights, are available with towels and linens provided and an in-room television. "Housekeeping cottages" are for those spending a week or more, but visitors must bring their own towels and linens. • The Thousand Islands Inn is located less than 10 minutes from Alexandria Bay, in the town of Clayton. The family-owned Thousand Islands Inn has been lodging visitors since the late 1800s and is the original home to Thousand Island salad dressing. The period-decorated rooms still contain all modern conveniences like Wi-Fi, cable TV and en-suite bathrooms. Guests also enjoy vacation packages which are arranged to include various nearby attractions, such as boat cruises, rafting and shipwreck diving.
