    Reindeer Food

    • Spread some food for the reindeer on Christmas Eve by concocting a mixture that will not only feed them, but also attract them to the house. You will need 1/2-cup of oatmeal, 1/8-cup white sugar, 1/8-teaspoon of red glitter, 1/8 teaspoon of green glitter, 4-by-4-inch Christmas theme fabric square and a 6 inch ribbon. To make the reindeer food, fill the jar with the oatmeal, sugar and glitter. Tighten the lid and wrap the lid with the fabric square, and secure with the ribbon.

    Snowglobe

    • Have a little one make a snowglobe for a homemade Christmas gift. You will need a small Christmas figurine, hot glue gun, distilled water, glycerin, and glitter. Use the hot glue gun to glue the figurine onto the bottom of the lid of the jar, and set aside to dry completely. Fill the jar 3/4 with distilled water and 1/16 with glycerin and mix well. Add a pinch of glitter to the water mixture and stir. Tighten the lid to the jar and turn the jar over so the lid becomes the base of the snowglobe. Verify that no water is leaking to assure the lid was tightened correctly and seal with hot glue.

    Hot Cocoa Mixture

    • You will need a package of hot cocoa mix, mini marshmallows, small candy cane, ribbon, 4-inch by 4-inch Christmas fabric square, tacky glue and scissors. Add hot cocoa mix to jar and fill the rest of the jar with marshmallows. Secure the lid to the top of the jar, and place the fabric square over the top of the jar. Place a rubber band around the lid and wrap the ribbon around the rubber band. Tie the candy cane and hot cocoa directions to the ribbon.

    Christmas Tree

    • You will need 33 clean baby jars, a strand of 35 mini lights, a hole punch, gold iridescent spray paint and a hot glue gun. Spray the baby jars with a thin layer of gold spray paint and allow to dry completely. Arrange the jars upside down on a table so that when you look at it from above, the jars ultimately form a tree shape. The first layer, which is the base of the tree trunk, will consist of three jars in a tight, straight line. The second layer will consist of two jars, which will stack above the first layer. The third layer is the bottom of the tree branches and is a line of seven jars centered above the trunk. The fourth layer contains six jars, stacked onto the previous line, the next layer is five jars, etc., until you get to the top of the tree which is one jar. All jars should have the lid touching the table surface and be pressed tightly together to form a tree shape. Hot glue the jars together in this format. Once the glue dries, punch a hole into the lid of each jar and insert one of the mini lights, starting with the top of the tree and weaving the strand so there is one light per jar. The two additional lights can be doubled up on the last two jars. Stand your baby food jar Christmas tree upright as a decoration for a side table or in a house window.
