How to Make Wine Labels on a Computer
Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Choose what software you are going to use to create your label. A basic word processing software like Microsoft Word will allow you to create a label layout, and it will also allow you to add images or pictures to your text.
2
Buy self-stick labels from an office supply store or discount store. Wine bottles come in different shapes and sizes, so make sure you know what size of bottle you will be using and what size label will work best for your bottle. Also, verify that the software you are using will support printing to your labels.
3
Set up your page. First, set up your page for your label size. In MS Word, select Tools from the menu, then the "Labels..." option, then click the "Options" button to specify your label size. Click "OK" twice, and your page will be formatted to your label size.
4
Design your label in one of the label sections on the page. Use your toolbar to add text, shapes and colors. Choose a font that is a good expression of you and your wine. If you don't have any artwork but would like to add some, download a picture or illustration from a royalty-free service on the web. When you are satisfied with your design, copy and paste it to the other label sections.
5
Print your labels on a printer. In MS Word, go to the File menu and select "Print." Design, like winemaking, is sometimes a trial and error process. Don't get frustrated if your label doesn't turn out exactly how you envisioned it on the first try. Keep experimenting until you are satisfied with your final result.
