How to Hide the Wires Above the Fireplace
- 1). Deactivate all electric devices attached to the wires in question.
- 2). Set your cabling channel into your desired location on the wall. In general, the channel sits almost flush against the bottom of the television. Use a level to make sure you line it up completely straight.
- 3). Trace the outline of the channel onto the wall so that you have a guideline for your installation.
- 4). Remove the channel from the wall. Slide the wires into the two tubes in the back of the channel, securing them into place with the flaps on the back of the channel.
- 5). Place the channel back into your guide once the wires are secured. Hold the channel in one hand and insert a small screw into the drill holes in the channel. Most channel kits come with their own screws.
- 6). Use an electric drill to attach the screws to the wall through the screw holes. Place a screw through each screw hole to secure the channel in place.
- 7). Paint the channel the same color as your wall. This will enable the channel to blend completely with the rest of your décor.
