In Defense of the Profession (Network Marketing)

103 1
I was recently reading Robert Kiyosakis book "Conspiracy of the Rich", and in it, he makes the difference between cash flow and capital gains.
Capital gains are basically income derived from market fluctuations, while cash flow is cash flowing into your account through assets you own.
Most people are in trouble in today's fast moving economy simply because they are living in the old reality of "Go to school", "get a nice paying job", etc.
But here is the kicker:The more you earn, the more you get taxed.
Your tax payers money is used to fund bailout plans, and reward mostly the incompetent, who are not producing anything.
As a result, you are left poorer than ever, and forced to take out more credit cards and get into debt, which actually is profitable to the banking institutions in the long run.
The only way to get out of this, is to decide to step into the new reality.
Focusing on cash flow.
On passive income.
On assets that constantly put money in your pocket, whether you are awake or sleeping.
I remember someone saying "If you are not making money while you are sleeping, you will never be rich".
Now, there are many vehicles for creating cash flow and passive income, and one of such is Network marketing.
In the old distribution model, people shipped goods to a middleman of some sort, who would then charge all sorts of fees, and then the goods would find its way to the consumer.
Network marketing removes the middle man, and the products are marketed by consumers themselves, who have used and believed in the product, and are attempting to share it with anyone in their "network".
A person who does such is normally called a distributor if he is part of a network marketing company, and you get rewarded according to the company's compensation plan.
You get rewarded according to your input, according to what you put in.
The more people join your organization, and the more the volume of products you sell, the more reward you get, as opposed to sitting in an office doing as little as possible and still being addicted to that steady paycheck at the end of the month.
Now this is where some people get scared.
This industry will only reward you based on output.
Based on what you put in.
Your success is going to be your own fault, and so is your failure.
You will have to be self motivated, and move out of your comfort zone, if you are serious about the rewards.
Network marketing is congruent with the law of Compensation, or Sowing and reaping, i.
e you get in what you put out.
Now some of you might ask, "Adewale, if network marketing is such a wonderful thing, why are there so many negative things written about it?".
Well, to quote the words of Charles Xavier in the X-Men, "People fear what they do not understand".
Most of the people who run around posting "Scam" stories online, fall into different categories: 1) They entered this industry with an unprofessional mindset.
They expected to just jump in, do as little as possible, and earn six figures in six months.
(Maybe its an exaggeration, but you get the picture).
When they fail or they do not get the success fast, they give up and begin screaming about scams, pyramid schemes, and all of that.
Such people cannot tell the difference between a pyramid scheme and a legitimate opportunity.
If you don't know the difference, send me a mail, I will be glad to answer your questions.
2) Some people can't think for themselves, and just offer their own uninformed opinions.
Most people are going to think you are nuts.
Because the herd is going one way, and you have decided to go another.
Most people think Network marketing cannot work, but hey, over 500 years ago, "Most people" felt the world was flat.
"Most people felt that man could not fly.
But guess what? "Most people" are often wrong.
Most of the people offering advice probably have not even done what you want to do..
..
but they feel "led" to offer their own opinions.
3)Negative marketing.
Some people in other companies go around with smear campaigns, saying stuff like "Company A is a scam, but hey, check out my own company.
We do ALL the work for you, and generate free leads, blah blah".
Such people lack integrity and you would be wise to run away from them FAST.
4) Some network marketers can act crazy, and go around spamming peoples walls and stuff with their affiliate links, instead of approaching people in a calm professional manner.
I run a personal development page on Facebook, and any spam links get removed.
Also, some go around pestering everyone to join their opportunity not forgetting the fundamental rule...
"You only look for those who are looking".
Such attitudes scare people away and contribute to the bad name associated with MLM.
In conclusion network marketing is a profession, and you need to take it seriously, count the cost, do your due diligence before joining any company.
When you join, realize that success is your own fault, and work hard at it.
The rewards are excellent, and can provide you with a source of cash flow and passive income, and you can opt out of the matrix.
