    Convert and Burn

    • 1). Download and install Avi2DVD from the Internet. This will allow you to trans-code and burn the AVI file of your choice to DVD. A simple search query like "download Avi2DVD" in most Internet search engines will point you to download locations.

    • 2). Start the program. Depending on your installation location and options you will find a shortcut to the program on your desktop or start menu.

    • 3). Select the "Input Tab" if it is not already selected. Select the "AVI Mode" button at the top of the screen, then click on the "Load File" button. Choose your AVI file from the popup menu. To the right of the import button, choose the appropriate language setting for your DVD. Below the import button choose the correct aspect ratio of your AVI file. 16:9 (wide screen) or 4:3 (standard).

    • 4). Click the "step 2 Output" tab to select the DVD output options. Choose the radio button for "DVD or SVCD" to select your output medium. To the right of this there is a drop-down list where you can select the capacity of the disk you will be burning to. The disc capacity should be printed on your DVD case. Below these options you will choose the output aspect ratio (generally the same as the input ratio), the audio bit rate (select a high number for better audio) and format conversion settings. Generally you want to have your DVD match the format of your original AVI; however, it is possible to convert between PAL and NTSC with these options.

    • 5). Click the "Step 3: Encoders" tab to select the encoder you will be using. Unless you have a specific reason to choose a different encoder, keep things simple by selecting the HCEnc encoder with the settings of "best" quality and "mpeg" matrix.

    • 6). Click the "Add Job" button at the bottom of the program window to add your conversion to the queue.

    • 7). Click the "Go" button to begin processing the queue. Avi2DVD will now create the appropriate DVD files necessary for a DVD burning utility to create your DVD.
