That is why when you purchase a ticket from an online site, it doesn't always mean you will get those tickets.
The online ticket site needs to verify your order with the selling broker to make sure no one else bought the same tickets from another site.
So, you could of thought you bought tickets for Wicked, but then a couple days find out that your order was denied.
The world of internet ticket sales is also full of affiliates.
Affiliates are basically the middlemen.
They create a website and market the website as their own.
But they sell tickets for larger sites such as StubHub or TicketsNow.
The larger sites like this because they can increase their exposure without spending the marketing dollars.
The affiliates like this because they make a percentage of the sale.
In order to help affiliates out, typically they are given discount coupons to pass on to their customers.
This helps over come the lack of brand awareness.
If the same tickets for the Christina Aguilera Concert cost $150 and TicketsNow and cost $150 at Zentickets.
com, most people would buy from the known company.
To help the affiliate out, TicketsNow may offer Zentickets.
com a coupon so that its actually cheaper to buy from ABC for the same ticket.
This helps the consumer and the affiliate.
The secondary ticket market is fueled by supply and demand.
If you are lucky enough to wake up early and log into ticketmaster and pick up tickets for the Police then good for you.
For the rest of us, we'll have to check the secondary market and pay a premium for the tickets.
For some people, this is worth it, for others, it isn't.
Its all business.
So, when you check for tickets online, don't be afraid of the smaller companies.
