    • 1). Insert the cold chisel into one end of the crack on your patio and gently tap it with the hammer to widen the crack to approximately 1/2 inch. Slowly work your way down the crack so that its width is uniform throughout.

    • 2). Brush away the concrete chips that may have fallen inside the crack due to the chiseling.

    • 3). Dip the paintbrush into the concrete bonding liquid and apply it to the back and inside walls of the crack. A single, even coat of the bonding liquid will ensure that concrete repair mix properly adheres to the surface.

    • 4). Pour the water and concrete mix into the bucket in the proper ratio listed on the concrete package. Stir to a uniform consistency with the pointed trowel.

    • 5). Scoop the mix into one end of the crack and continuing scooping the mix until the entire length of the crack is filled with the concrete. Pack the concrete down into the crack using the pointed end of the trowel.

    • 6). Smooth down the concrete mix so that it is even with the existing patio surface using the flat side of the trowel.

    • 7). For a textured look, drag a moist broom over the concrete repair. Allow the repair to fully cure for 24 to 28 hours before using the patio surface.
