Assuming that you are a ' newbie' on the computer the thought of the internet may cause some problems, but you will learn to enjoy it.
The Internet is a very powerful tool for your new adventure and it is just as powerful for your education as your business on it.
There are literally thousands of places to get the techniques, you may need, articles to read, videos to watch, training classes and millions of site to search for your answers.
I guess the next question that most people want to know is how much will it cost to set a complete program for making money.
The answer is hard to know, it can vary depending on your objectives, very much similar to a Brick and Mortar business.
But until the Brick and Mortar, it will be much less expensive to set up and can be just as rewarding.
There are many ways to go and you don't know what you need.
When you first start this journey, you will hear terms like: blogs, affiliate marketing, Facebook, ClickBank, PPC, list building and more, STOP the insanity.
Take a breath, you need to do list building, on the internet these are your customer, just like traffic is to a physical business.
No customers, No Business.
These are the people which you will provide information and value, too.
From there you can decide what your business will look like and what you may need, to communicate,or to advertise.
Some things you'll need for sure: domain name (this is how your business get recognized), some one to host your domain (like the phone company in the real world), a website ( your front door), a product, a way to get paid and a auto-responder( system to send automatic messages to your customers.
There are many more directions which you can go, but these are some of the basic.
So you can see to answer the cost question is impossible, it can be a few hundred to several thousand, depend on you and your business.
The best idea is to get a good overview then narrow it down to a workable and affordable way to go.
Once you establish your plan, stick to it, avoid all other ideas until you master these.
Then and only then can you expand your scope to other techniques.
Getting back to above discussion, some things for thought.
Don't go it alone unless you must, you need support when the times get tuff and they will.
It can be a wife, a son or daughter, a grandchild or a friend, especially if they have skills which you don't possess.
This can help to shorten the learning curve, which in turn may shorten your business journey.

You must define your "WHY"? Why are you considering this adventure, be specific, no generalizations.
So I can be with my children growing up,time freedom, self-worth, or better life.
This is probably the most important part of your decision to become a Internet marketeer, your "WHY" has got to be strong enough to carry you forward no matter what obstacles jump in the road.
This may sound like a lot but let me tell you that it can be very much worth it to you and your family.
