How to Announce a Wedding Registry
- 1). Tell close family and friends where you've registered. Send the information in an email or write it down so that everyone will have a copy. Let them know that other guests may ask them where you're registered, and that they should feel free to pass the information on to your guests.
- 2). Give registry information to anyone who's going to throw you a bridal shower. Send her your information as soon as she offers to throw a shower. She can include registry information on the actual shower invitation, or slip a card into each envelope with the details. Since all the guests who attend your shower should be attending your wedding, they'll know where to shop for both shower and wedding gifts.
- 3). Set up a wedding website. There any many companies that allow couples to set up free websites that include wedding details and information about the couple. Include registry information on the website. The details should not be on the website's home page. Create a "Registry Information" link on the homepage that guests have to click on to find details.
- 4). Send out wedding invitations that include the website address. Print the address on a separate card and include it in the invitation envelope. When guests visit the website, they can visit the registry page if they so choose.
- 5). Tell guests where you're registered if they ask you directly. Provide the names of the stores and thank the guests for asking, then move on to another topic. Talking about your registry for too long may make you seem greedy.
