How to Add a Weather App for My Local City to My Toolbar
- 1). Click "Start." Type "Desktop Gadgets" in the search box at the bottom of the "Start" menu. Press "Enter."
- 2). Click the "Weather" gadget icon, represented by a yellow "sun."
- 3). Look around your Windows desktop to find the "Weather" gadget. It usually appears in the top-right corner of the desktop. It may also display a default weather reading for "New York, NY" along with the current temperature in degrees.
- 4). Right-click on the Weather gadget. Select "Options" from the menu to open a dialog box. Type in your ZIP code under "Select Current Location." Click the "magnifying glass" icon. Look at the bottom of the dialog box for a message similar to the following: "Your-City, Your-State found."
- 5). Fill in the radio button next to "Fahrenheit" or "Celsius." Click "OK" to add the Weather gadget application to your computer and have it regularly retrieve data for your local city.
