Dance fitness is one of the things that dancers and instructors need to understand because it is what determines the success of any dance group or individual.
There is no way anyone can produce amazing dance styles unless their bodies are fit and up to the task.
However, even though this is the case, dance instructors have been going through a lot of difficulty because whenever they try to teach their groups some new skills, they are faced with injuries.
Indeed, there are many cases where dancers have been affected with injuries forcing some of them to abandon this wonderful career altogether.
So what is the best way to ensure that your dancers do not get injured when trying to produce amazing results out of their efforts? This is a question that many people ask themselves even though not many of them get the real answers that they need.
Most definitely, the answers to such questions need to be found.
There is no disputing the fact that every dancer would like to be fit throughout her career.
This is because it is the only way she can keep up with the much needed consistency that will assure her of better results.
In this competitive field, nobody wants to be dragged down by things such as injuries because they know when they are down, someone else will be providing amazing dance routines and will therefore steal the show from them.
Just like athletes, dancers need to be in the best shape so as to remain relevant in their careers.
If they are put down by injuries, then their careers will be greatly affected.
Imagine what would happen if a dancer is required to perform at an event that she has been dreaming of all her life only to be put down by an injury at the last hour.
This can be traumatizing to say the least.
Studies show that most of the injuries that affect dancers are often caused by the things that they do when in training.
It is unlikely for a dancer to get injured when on stage because when it comes to this time, she has already perfected what she is required to do and will therefore be more likely to do it safely.
This means that instructors need to be more careful about dance fitness when in training.
Before you tell your dancers to try something new, you first must find out the risks that are involved and come up with ways of reducing them so that the dancer may do it safely.
There are many instructors who do not care about this and the result of it is that they often end up with poor results.
Some of them even end up lamenting about the injuries that are affecting their dancers.
Unknown to them, such injuries can easily be avoided if they take the necessary steps to ensure that dancers are safe.
Some of the most common injuries that affect dancers include muscle pulls, strains tears, joint and alignment injuries, and other injuries caused by high impact movements.
Even though these may be common injuries, there is no doubt that they still affect many dancers and are therefore a big threat to their careers.
Unless instructors know the most effective ways to handle such situations when they occur and how to ensure that they do not keep recurring, it will be very difficult for them to assemble a good dance unit that can compete with the finest groups.
Since the aspiration of any instructor is to come up with a group that is competitive, dance fitness is something that must be given top priority at all times.
The knees, hips shoulders, ankles, spine, elbows and all muscles are just some of the body parts that can be affected whenever an injury occurs.
Everyone knows that these are very sensitive body parts that should not be strained too much.
For instance, with an injured knee, there is no way you can expect a dancer to turn around swiftly and produce the best dance moves.
These areas can cause intensive pain and could therefore make a person to be bed ridden for a long time.
This is not something that should happen to a good dancer especially when she is expecting to advance in her career and earn a living from it.
Nowadays, unlike the past decades, many ladies are making a living purely from dancing.
This is no longer the hobby activity that people used to do only when they had some time off their busy schedules.
People are taking dancing seriously and are earning more money out of it.
In fact, they are making way more than what those who are employed in full time positions are earning.
It therefore does not make sense when a person with such a big earning potential is forced to abandon her career just because of simple injuries that could have been prevented had the instructors taken the time to do what is right.
As the instructor of a dance group, a person has the responsibility to ensure that everyone is safe.
All the other people are under the instructor's command and will be more than wiling to do what he asks them to do.
Although this is a good a position to be in, instructors have to understand the magnitude of the responsibility that rests on their shoulders.
The way dancers obey instructions means that they trust the instructor to take care of their safety.
If they have any doubt, they will be reluctant to do whatever they are told.
Because of this, it is important for every instructor to ensure that she has taken all the precautions to make sure that nothing disastrous happens.
Of course, there are many things that can be done just to make sure that everyone is safe from injuries and that they continue to produce the best results so as to make the dance group a unit that many others can only envy but not match.
It also is important to note that even though all precautions may be observed; there always are situations when inevitable things occur.
Just face it; accidents do occur even when everyone is alert.
Because of this, instructors need to have some knowledge of first aid.
It would be an awkward situation if one of the dancers gets injured yet the instructor does not have any idea of what to do.
First aid will ensure that the injury is minimized because by the time the injured dancer gets to a hospital, the damage could have multiplied making it difficult to handle.
First aid does not mean that instructors need to know the entire process of treating the injury.
Of course, that is the work of physicians and doctors.
What it means is that you need to have knowledge if preventing things such as bleeding, swelling, and other minor things that can make the injury worse before you get to a physician.
This will also reduce the pain that the dancer goes through and will therefore increase her chances of getting better much faster.
As dancing becomes an increasingly coveted career, there is no doubting the fact that instructors have the obligation of ensuring that their dancers are safe by using the knowledge of dance fitness.
