How to Remove a Wall-Mounted Microwave Oven

    • 1). Unplug the microwave oven before you start to do anything else to remove it from the wall. For most wall-mounted microwaves, the plug will be in a cabinet above or around where the microwave is mounted.

    • 2). Unscrew any screws that you can find that are attaching the microwave to anything else, including the cabinets, wall or a metal plate installed to hold the wall mount in place. Keep the screws in a safe place for later so that you don't lose them.

    • 3). Look in the same cabinet where the microwave was plugged in for any large holding bolts. Wall-mounted microwave ovens are typically held in place mainly by two to four bolts. Have someone else hold the microwave while you disconnect these bolts, because otherwise it will fall.

    • 4). Examine the surrounding area for any clips or pins after you remove the bolts if the microwave is still connected to the wall or cabinetry. Check all surrounding surfaces for connective devices and remove them, holding the microwave in place as you do.
