How to Remove the Skin From Acorn Squash
- 1). Wash the squash's skin under cold, running water to remove any dirt, then pat it dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
- 2). Cut off and discard the top and bottom 1/2 inch of the acorn squash with a sharp knife.
- 3). Set the acorn squash on a cutting board so one of the cut ends is flat against the board.
- 4). Slice down the sides of the acorn squash to remove the skin. According to chef Todd Mohr, follow the curves of the squash. This way, you don't lose too much of the flesh in the process. It's now ready for you to cut up, remove the seeds and use in your recipe.
